Accomplished between the 1950s and the 1980s, the Assemblages are closely connected with Collages, of which they seem to be the “symmetric opposite” (Altamira 2001). They are done with by assembling, usually on packaging paper, of fragments and cut out pieces of a wide range of fabrics (cotton, jeans, velvet, and scraps of clothes…), which create different patterns on the surface. Some of the assemblages are elaborated with the dripping technique.
