The mannequins

Like the elementary art cycle and the experiments in the scientific field, Bianco’s mannequins created during the 70’s, serve the same demystifying purpose.

New forms of expression pertaining to theatre stage-settings, are introduced in a completely changed morphology. Bianco assigns the hallucinated world of dolls, puppets and mannequins, interpreted by an estranging scenography, “a thought on the elementary things in life”, of the fundamental problems of human nature, of the relationships and contradictions we live in confronting “others”, underscoring its highest tensions and most dramatic moments.

Once again the concept of life seems for Bianco as though it may be reconnected to art through the “lack of life”, through the mannequin, the puppet, intended as the doubles of the living actors on the real stage, marked with the sign of death.
